FAQs

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Q- What are Cookies and how does VIP use them?
A- A Cookie is information that a Web server stores on a user's computer when the user browses a particular Web site. This information helps the Web server track such things as user preferences and data that the user may submit while browsing the site. For example, a cookie may include information about the purchases that the user makes (if the Web site is a shopping site). The use of cookies enables a Web site to become more interactive with its users, especially on future visits.

You need to accept cookies in order for VIP free email to track your rebates and commissions. You need to set your privacy settings on your browser to medium and set it to accept cookies.

If you need additional help, email us at support@onvipmail.com

Q- How do I uninstall VIP services?
A- VIP offers no applications to install at this time. Therefore, there is no need to uninstall any software if you decide to stop using the VIP free email account services.

Q- Can I have POP3 access to my VIP account?
A- Yes, you can have POP3 access to your VIP account if you are a Premium member.

If you are already a Premium member, please view the "Email Client Setup Guide" to configure your client.

Q- Why can't I connect to my VIP account with my mail client?
A- There could be many reasons why this is not working:

1. You must be a Premium user to check your email with a mail client.

2. You must enter your username as user@onvipmail.com instead of just user.

3. Some ISP's block access to outgoing mail server ports. To help our users we have allowed users to connect to a different port. This can be configured in your account options by changing port 25 to 3025 for your outgoing mail server.

Q- What is VIP's Recallable, Erasable, Self-Destructing Video Email Service?
A- VIP offers the world's first video emails that you can control how long the person you send them too gets to view them. Control the number of views your videos can be seen and the amount of time that the videos can be seen. You can even prevent people from forwarding your videos.

Q- Recallable messages that I send do not display in Microsoft Outlook 2007
A- Currently, Microsoft Outlook 2007 does not support our non-printable feature.

When sending recallable messages to people who use Microsoft Outlook 2007, do not check the hard to print feature. We are currently working on a solution to this problem and hope to have it released shortly.
